Contestants will choose the topic for their essay based on their grade:
Level 1: Grades 7 & 8:
1. What Justice Means to Me: Lessons from Black History
2. The Power of Standing Up: Justice in the Civil Rights Movement
3. Creating a Fair World: How We Can Continue the Fight for Justice
Level 2: Grades 9 & 10
1. Racial Injustice and the responsibility of youth
2. The impact of systemic racism in law enforcement and the judicial system on society
3. Historic and recent examples of racial discrimination in professional sports and its impact on society
Level 3: Grades 11 & 12
(same as Level-2 topics)
